Today we are thrilled to announce the launch of SaverSaurus, the newest addition to the ShoppingResult ecosystem. SaverSaurus is a free barcode price comparison tool that puts the power of real-time pricing data directly in the hands of everyday consumers.

The problem we set out to solve

Anyone who has ever shopped online knows the feeling: you find a product you want, but you are never quite sure if you are getting the best price. Maybe another retailer has it for less. Maybe there is a sale somewhere you have not checked. The uncertainty is frustrating, and manually comparing prices across dozens of websites is a tedious chore that nobody has time for.

That is exactly the problem SaverSaurus solves. We took the same data infrastructure that powers ShoppingScraper -- the engine behind thousands of business pricing decisions -- and built a consumer-friendly interface on top of it.

How SaverSaurus works

Using SaverSaurus is straightforward. There are three ways to find the best price on any product:

• Barcode scanning -- Open your phone's camera, scan the product's EAN or UPC barcode, and instantly see prices from over 100 retailers.
• Keyword search -- Type in a product name, brand, or model number and browse matching results across all supported retailers.
• URL search -- Paste a product URL from any major retailer and SaverSaurus will find the same product at better prices elsewhere.

Rex's Deal Finder: the browser extension

We also built a browser extension called "Rex's Deal Finder" that works while you shop. When you visit a product page on any supported retailer, Rex automatically checks for better prices and shows them in a non-intrusive sidebar. No extra tabs, no copy-pasting URLs. Just one click and you know if there is a better deal out there.

SaverSaurus launches with coverage across 13 countries in Europe and North America: Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States. With 53,000+ retailers connected, each country links to locally relevant shops so the results you see are the ones you can actually buy from.
